Alpina Eclectic Hotel - Chamonix

We met excellent friendly and gentle employees.

The stay here was very good for two nights. The superior double room we were allocated in was functional. The location was particularly good and stunning, you can visit Le Brevent Cable Car by walking.

Also, location was great, around 10-15 minutes walk from Tk Savoy Ski Lift. Breakfast with beautiful view. The service was attentive, it had a reasonably priced rooftop restaurant.

As for me, the area was a bit disappointing.

Cool and fairly clean place to stay in, it has perfect staff at the reception desk. The hotel has a brilliant and exceptional location, right next to Super U. It's based in great area, in the centre of town.

The staff as very helpful, even calling to make a reservation for my husband to go for his first paragliding flight and recommending l'm, where we had a nice dinner. (See next answer.) We appreciated that they could speak English. We also like the convenient location of the hotel to the main street.

The temperature was much too hot in the hotel, especially the lobby and our room. We had the windows open continually to cool down our room. (This was in May... cannot imagine how it would be in July or August!) The restaurant was closed for an entire week, which included the two days we were there (although it was open for continental breakfast). The steam room was also out of service when we were there.

Very well located. Good parking place. Nice staff. Comfortable room with good bed linen and towels. Room with a small balcony with view to the mountains. Very good value for money.

Need renovation, specially in the bathroom - but quite ok for a weekend where you are not going to spend time inside the hotel. I'd stay there again.

Relax facilities were broken.

It was just a commendable fit for a flying visit in Chamonix with good price-value balance. The hot tub in the spa was a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the mountain views. Make sure to include breakfast for the best start to your day.

the hotel is in bad need of renovation, breakfast is poor, restaurant is poor, the hotel bar was closed down(!!!)

Good rooms, good location and the sauna

Total rip off and big disappointment!!! - no possibility to unload luggage in front of hotel - room was small and very dated - bed did not appear clean (I used my own pillow and sleeping bag instead of filthy looking sheets) - bathroom was too small and simply ugly - staff was stressed - half board for 30 EUR was a total disgrace: microwaved meal in the evening and the breakfast was poorer than poor (at 7:30 they ran out of bread and only had chocolate croissants left) - the whole appearance of the place is dirty, worn out and run down. I complained at the reception, but the response was just a nod with the head. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

The breakfast was horrible, powder eggs for the omelette and cold, sausage as well. Very limited choice for a so called buffet. Parking no available and welcome at the reception not very nice. Apparently hotel for tour operator

steps away from amazing views and charming parks

I loved how easy it was to stroll to the nearby Grand Balcon Nord and enjoy amazing views of Mont Blanc, while also being just a few steps away from beautiful parks, made my walks more fun.

The location was great and the room was clean and tidy. The restaurant at the top of the hotel was convenient. The staff spoke english well, which was nice.

If you do not have the upgraded room with a view, the scenery from the window is pretty poor. I also would have liked if breakfast was included in the rate.
